GET READY TO ‘SLUM IT’ IN A NEW STREET FOOD RESTAURANT

Slums is a brand new restaurant to hit Belfast! With it’s Slums/Shanty Town style interior, this unique new dining concept promises to have something to keep all palates pleased.  Expect to sample a delicious selection of Wraps, Rice Bowls and Salad Bowls that will keep you coming back time and time again!  Also, get ready for the traditional Lassi – a yoghurt shake with eight flavours ranging from Mango to Passionfruit, brought to you exclusively by Slums!

David Caruth is the guy behind Slums.  David left school at sixteen and trained as a chef working in some of Belfast’s top restaurants.  He then went on to run nightclubs in Belfast, Edinburgh and Mallorca.

“The idea for Slums came from doing outdoor catering for the past ten years”, explains David.  “We have been the first in Northern Ireland to do this style of cuisine but until now have concentrated mostly on outdoor functions such as festivals.  We thought now since the food industry has seen a massive growth throughout Belfast it was the right time to open Slums”.

“Nearly every part of the menu is our own unique taste, all of the meats, sauces and rice dishes are our own recipes which we have created from scratch.  The flavours will be fantastic for all tastes”, says David.

David hopes that Slums is going to create a following from their customers due to their high level of service, food and drink.  “We want everyone to be ‘slumming it’ either for their lunch or the dinner, then in time create a chain so we can feed as many ‘slummers’ as possible”, says David.
